Qipao (also known as cheongsam ) is a fashion symbol of Chinese culture. The cheongsam -making technique has been inscribed onto the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China. The ‘Cinderella and Her Qipao’ exhibition showcases 31 qipaos from a selection of films that span across different eras, along with related film footage, recreating the cultural landscapes of the past with pieces worn by iconic actresses such as Li Lihua, Hsia Moon, Maggie Cheung and Brigitte Lin. Visitors will gain a deeper understanding of qipao in films through this exhibition.
