Invitation to “Green Tourism Pilot Scheme” Application

In view of the increasing global trend and interest in Green Tourism, HKTB is launching a brand new “Green Tourism Pilot Scheme” to support local trade tapping into this huge potential market.
As a premier destination, Hong Kong has many diverse and excellent natural attractions which are lesser-known to visitors. This scheme will provide funding support for local travel agents to develop new green tour products, encouraging visitors to explore the enchanting landscapes of the city. Hence, the scheme will help drive the sustainable growth of green tourism in Hong Kong.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must hold a valid Travel Agents Licence issued by the Travel Agents Registry unless otherwise exempted under the Travel Agents Ordinance.
- The applicant must be the organiser of the tour product.
- The proposed products in the application should:
- be a regular land tour product offered for inbound visitors with tour activities organised in Hong Kong;
- focus on in-depth Green Tourism;
- be guided by a professional tour guide; and
- operate five days per week.
Scope of Funding
- Funds provided under the Green Tourism Pilot Scheme should solely be used to support the approved operation costs with a maximum amount of HK$2,100 per selected green tour product per day.
- The funding support from HKTB shall be limited to HK$273,000 per approved application lasting for six months.
