At 2016 Bordeaux Wine Festival in France, the Hong Kong Pavilion was designed as a grand bamboo theatre which well represented the city’s unique tradition. Visitors experienced Hong Kong’s East-meets-West culture through performances such as Chinese Opera and Tap Dance crossover Chinese Dance. A Cantonese Opera Interactive Workshop was specially arranged for visitors to learn some Cantonese Opera gestures. Moreover, a series of videos about Hong Kong’s destination appeal were showcased.

 

To promote the fascinating contrasts of Hong Kong, hip restaurant Little Bao’s owner May Chow and her chef were invited to serve their signature tapas at the pavilion. Chef Alvin Leung from the three Michelin-starred restaurant Bo Innovation also prepared his specialty fusion dishes for the VIPs at the Mayor’s Lunch and 1855 Dinner.

 

Mr Philip Yung, Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Commerce, Industry and Tourism), Miss Rosanna Law, Deputy Commissioner for Tourism, and Dr Peter Lam, Chairman of HKTB graced the occasion with their presence. This leading European wine tourism event attracted over 650,000 visitors from all over the world.
