The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is delighted to announce that all tickets for seated spectacles of the “Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade”, which will be held on the first day of Chinese New Year (10 February), are sold out. The HKTB thanks the public for fervent support. Non-ticket holders may enjoy free viewing of the event at various spectator-friendly spots along the parade route, or watch the live broadcast on TVB Jade or HKTB’s official website DiscoverHongKong.com.

This year’s “Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade” will start at 8:00pm on the first day of Chinese New Year. The parade will feature nine floats and a total of 29 performing groups, including 13 local and 16 international groups. Most of the floats will have dragons, portraying the auspicious dragon hovering over Hong Kong to bring fortune and joy to the city in the New Year. This year’s parade will also see the largest-ever number of international performing groups in such a parade in Hong Kong with various globally famous and award-winning acts. This extraordinary festivity with a global touch is a not-to-be-missed party for both locals and visitors and strongly echoes the energy and motivation of the Dragon.

The parade will start at the Piazza of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, proceed along Canton Road, Haiphong Road and Nathan Road, and finish outside the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers. The first float is expected to reach these checkpoints at the following times:

Departs from the Piazza, Hong Kong Cultural Centre 8:15pm
Canton Road 8:30pm
Haiphong Road 8:50pm
Nathan Road 9:00pm
Ends outside the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers 9:45pm

Before the parade starts, 13 warm-up local teams will hype up the ambience with the crowd along the parade route starting from 6:00pm, with dances, magic tricks, music, freestyle football and many other performances.
