Details: | China Airlines announced that free baggage allowances for all flights flown by its aircraft on Asian, Australia/New Zealand and European routes will be increased by 10 kg from July 15 onwards. The move makes China Airlines the first Taiwan carrier to offer this privilege.
In a move designed to enhance product offerings and attract more travelers, the existing 20/25/30 kg free baggage allowances in weight system for Economy Class/Premium Economy Class/ Business Class to destinations other than the Americas and the U.S. and Canadian territories will each be increased by 10 kg from July 15 onwards. The new baggage allowance will therefore be 30 kg per person in Economy Class, 35 kg per person in Premium Economy Class, and 40 kg per person in Business Class. The increased allowance will help overseas travelers get the most out of their trip and shop to their hearts’ content.
Occupational safety rules at international airports however limit each piece of luggage to a maximum of 32 kg. Those that exceed the limit will need to re-pack their luggage before check-in. For travelers whose check-in process involves other airlines stations, or those holding tickets from other airlines, the terms of their original ticket applies. The extra baggage allowances enjoyed by China Airlines Paragon, Emerald and Gold Card members will remain unchanged. |
