Animated World - a ‘’more than wax’’ experience on board. Grand Opening in April 2017 at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong

A new immersive experience opens at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong in April, starring world famous animated characters like Balala the Fairies, McDull and Mrs. Mak, Yo-kai Watch, Marvel superheroes and Hello Kitty.

Working in close collaboration with Alpha Culture Co., Ltd, Bliss Concepts Ltd., Level-5 abby Hong Kong Ltd., Marvel Entertainment LLC, Sanrio Wave Hong Kong Co., Ltd., and teamLab, Animated World is a significant new type of experience for Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. Japanese ultra-technologists teamLab presents their new digital interactive technology in Hong Kong for the first time. It takes Madame Tussauds experience to a whole new level that visitors will soon be able to explore the ultimate digital experience in the famed attraction at The Peak.

This is the first time that Madame Tussauds Hong Kong has integrated animated figures and gaming technology into the attraction. This brand-new zone’s design draws from the concept of origami, the ancient practice of paper folding, denotes children’s creativity. With the use of projection technology, the sinuous partition wall which covered by geometric blocks reflects the pantone colours of the corresponding characters. Visitors are able to see perceivable colours change when moving to various positions that offer a unique visual enjoyment.

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong continually improves guest experience by adding new interactive experiences and figures for visitors of all ages. Teenagers can rub shoulders with Korean red-hot celebrities Lee Jong-suk and Suzy Bae at ‘K-Wave Zone’ or hop on stage with Taylor Swift at ‘Music Icons’ area. Adults and kids would meet and know more about the amazing stories from the world leaders at ‘Historical and National Heroes’ area. The grand opening of Yayoi Kusama Gallery last year makes polka-dot artistic theme slated to become talk of the town and invites visitors to immerse in her artistic world.

In April 2017, the soon-to-be-launched Animated World features popular animated characters. Guests will become truly immersed in their favourites animations in an innovative and interactive way. All five areas are housed with digital installation inviting guests to enjoy an immersive and interactive gaming experience with their favourites characters. For instance, transform into a little princess with Balala the Fairies; build your ideal city with McDull and Mrs. Mak; win an exclusive character from Yo-Kai Watch’s match - three puzzle game; join the Marvel heroes Hulk, Ironman and Spiderman to fight against the villains and take photos at Hong Kong landmarks with Hello Kitty! Moreover, guests can take selfies with their favourites characters closely as much as they want.
