WHAT'S HAPPENING IN HONG KONG
Get Close to Nature in Hong Kong
Hong Kong is home to the most skyscrapers on earth but a serene beach, scenic hike, or fishing village is never more than a hop, skip, or ferry ride away. Our newest video in the 360 Hong Kong Moments series showcases the city’s lush landscapes and breathtaking views.
Island Hopping
One of the greatest surprises about Hong Kong is the wide-open countryside and rich biodiversity. Did you know that 70 percent of the city’s total area is natural green space and there are over 260 outlying islands? In this article you’ll learn more about the laid-back lifestyle on a few of the outlying islands, with highlights of what to do and where to eat.
Beach Vibes
When you think of Hong Kong, pristine beaches with soft sand and calming waves may not be the first image that comes to mind, yet this is another side of the city to explore. Dive in for some water sports, dine by the seaside, or simply find a patch of sand to chill out in. Enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of Hong Kong’s beautiful beaches.
Hiking
Hong Kong is more than a concrete jungle, with breathtaking landscapes and picturesque trails closer to downtown than you think. Within 30 minutes in any direction, you can be surrounded by mountains, waterfalls or sink your toes into the sand on a beach. Check out this guide on outdoor activities in Tai Po, where you can hike and enjoy a relaxing break at Bride’s Pool Waterfall.
HKTB+ Video News
This 4th episode of HKTB+ showcases the campaigns that HKTB has conducted to present Hong Kong in innovative new ways, like “Arts in Hong Kong” which promoted the diverse artistic experiences in the city. In May, various international art shows, including Art Basel, returned through a series of on-line and in-person events. First-ever initiatives, including virtual art classes and interactive micro-films, were launched to get potential visitors from abroad to experience Hong Kong’s unique artistic appeal. You’ll also see a recap of the annual Tourism Update, an industry conference hosted by HKTB to forecast upcoming tourism trends.
