7 Temples (and a Beating) by TramHong Kong celebrates four traditional festivals in May, making it a great month to experience its vibrant living culture. But at any time of the year, you can experience the real soul of the city by visiting its temples by tram. Here?s an outline of how to do it. Check out the full description for detailed directions h ere. M an Mo Temple, Sheung Wan A tribute to the God of Literature and God of War. Tram stop: Western Market TerminusHung Shing Temple, Wan ChaiDedicated to a righteous official from the Tang dynasty (618 ? 907) who was later deified. Tram stop: Luard Road (eastbound) or Swatow Street (westbound). Pak Tai Temple, Wan ChaiHonouring Chinese god Pak Tai (Supreme Emperor of the North). Tram stop : O?Brien Road Tin Hau Temple, Causeway BayOne of more than 70 temples dedicated to Tin Hau, Goddess of the Sea, in Hong Kong. Tram stop: Hong Fat Street (eastbound) or Lau Sin Street (westbound) Ling Fa Kung, Tai HangSaid to be built at a location where the Goddess of Mercy appeared. Tram stop: Hing Fat Street (eastbound route) or Lau Sin Street (westbound route) T in Hau Temple, Shau Kei WanBuilt in 1873, this temple houses murals, wood carvings and Shek Wan pottery. Tram stop: Shau Kei Wan Terminus  T am Kung Temple, Shau Kei Wan Dedicated to Tam Kung, a deity unique to Hong Kong. Tram stop: Shau Kei Wan TerminusP etty Person Beating In Causeway Bay, you can find old ladies who specialise in ?beatings?. Tell one who the person holding you back is and she?ll light incense, make cut-outs of a paper tiger and beat the ?petty person? out of your life with her shoe.
