The 2017 Hong Kong Tourism Overview, organised by HKTB to highlight our direction and annual plan to promote Hong Kong tourism, has successfully concluded. Held on 30 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the one-day event was attended by over 1,100 tourism industry leaders, trade partners, as well as students.

Our theme for this year is “Best of All, It’s in Hong Kong” (齊心.同創.共贏), which encourages the industry to create more unique experiences for visitors to explore Hong Kong like a local. The event kicked off with a welcome speech by Dr Peter Lam, the Chairman of HKTB, followed by a keynote speech by Commissioner for Tourism, Miss Cathy Chu. Mr Anthony Lau, the Executive Director of HKTB, then presented the 2016 Business Review.

An Industry Forum was once again staged for economic and tourism experts to share their economic outlook on the industry and the latest travelling trends. It was moderated by Mr Bernie Lo, Anchor of CNBC International. Speakers included: Ms Mariana Kou, Head of China Education & HK Consumer, CLSA Limited; Mr Jeremy Jauncey, Founder & CEO of Beautiful Destinations; Mr Hari Nair, Global Senior Vice President for Expedia Media Solutions; Mr Paul Chan, Founder of Walk in Hong Kong; and Ms Rachel Tang, Sales Director, Travel, Facebook Greater China. They were invited to share their views on enhancing the visitor experience and delve into the latest technologies to reinforce the connection with global consumers.

During the afternoon sessions, Directors from our Worldwide Offices reported trends and challenges in their respective markets, opening insights for our trade partners to plan and pursue exciting new business leads.
