HKTB Announces that 49.9 Million Visitors Received in Hong Kong in 2025

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced that the provisional full-year visitor arrivals for 2025 reached 49.9 million, representing a 12% year-on-year increase. Visitor arrivals in December 2025 recorded 4.65 million, up 9% compared to the same period in 2024.

 

Over the course of the year, 37.8 million visitors were from the Chinese Mainland, a 11% yearon-year rise and accounting for 76% of total arrivals. Non-Chinese Mainland visitors numbered around 12.1 million, 15% more than in 2024, making up 24% of total arrivals. Markets including Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, and the Middle East saw robust growth with year-on-year growth of 25% or more. Arrivals from short-haul markets including the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and India meanwhile matched or surpassed pre-pandemic levels.

 

Furthermore, the average length of stay for overnight visitors was 3.1 nights over the past year. According to HKTB’s departing visitor survey, overnight visitors rated their satisfaction with Hong Kong on a scale of 10 points at 8.9 points.
