Bollywood superstar Varun Dhawan meets his world-first figure

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan today unveiled his world-first wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. Varun Dhawan is the youngest Bollywood superstar and the 4th Indian figure to join the star lineup in the attraction, set to take the fame attraction at The Peak by storm with his charm.

 

For the first time in history Madame Tussauds Hong Kong welcomes the Bollywood star Varun Dhawan came face to face from Mumbai to meet his world-first figure. “I am so glad to be here. I would like to say a warm thank you to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and my fans. I have visited Madame Tussauds when I was six and I can’t believe I can be the one to stand next to the figures of various celebrities and world leaders one day,” commented Varun. To commemorate the momentous occasion, Varun also invited his parents to witness. The family took a series of photos with the extremely lifelike figure.  

 

Dressed in a cool pair of his own jeans and shirt, the dynamic figure features Varun Dhawan’s trademark dancing move. As the first time the superstar has been immortalized in wax, a team of professional Madame Tussauds sculpting team was specially travelled to Mumbai to work with Varun Dhawan on a detailed sitting. The five-hour sitting process captured every intricate detail includes hair, eyes, teeth, his iconic smile and six pack. “I’m so excited to finally see my figure. It is so real,” said Varun Dhawan.

 

To share such a remarkable moment with fans, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong also connected fans around the world through live broadcast on official Twitter and Facebook page. Many fans enjoyed the event despite time and distance.

 

Visitors that meet Varun for a selfie will also experience the new interactive dancing experience. In partnership with International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), Madame Tussauds Hong Kong unleashed a brand-new dancing experience with AR (Augmented Reality) technology. Stepping onto the dance floor, visitors are able to dance with the Bollywood dancers. Known for his energetic dance moves, Varun Dhawan also took this exclusive chance to try out this new wax experience. He could not wait to rock the dance floor when he heard the music of Saturday Saturday. Varun commented in excitement “Let’s dance and see who gets the best move!”  He also got the chance to “meet” his favourite Hong Kong movie stars Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee.

Varun Dhawan started his acting career in romantic comedy Student of the Year in 2012. Known for acclaimed roles in movies Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and ABCD 2, Varun began to create and garner more attention. The Bollywood movie industry has honoured Varun with an IIFA Awards for Best Performance in a Comic Role for his performance as Seenu in Main Tera Hero in 2015 and the nomination for Best Actor for his role in Badlapur in 2016. In 2017, Varun Dhawan was invited by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be part of Swachh Bharat Mission, a campaign by the Indian Government on urban sanitation. Over 20 million fans on social media, Varun Dhawan is beloved by fans worldwide. Through his many forms of work, he continues to inspire more fans.

Varun Dhawan will be housed in World Premiere zone. He will be the 4th Indian figure to join Madame Tussauds Hong Kong with Mahatma Gandhi, Narendra Modi and Amitabh Bachchan, currently on display.
