Executive Director

Location: Hong Kong
Responsibilities:
      The Executive Director is required to lead the HKTB in taking forward the promotion of Hong Kong as a world class travel destination. In particular, the Executive Director is mainly responsible for –
      Strategic Vision
      1) Defining and safeguarding the strategic vision and mission of Hong Kong as a most desired travel destination and the role of HKTB in achieving that.
      Strategic Planning
      2) Directing the development of the annual strategic business plan and budget.
      3) Ensuring that the objectives of the agreed strategic business plan are met by quality execution and directing the reallocation of resources to ensure targets are achieved.
      Long-Term Strategic Platform for Tourism
      4) Providing quantitative reviews to identify market opportunities and present them to the trade, and providing marketing support to drive awareness and taking up of these new tourism products.
      5) Ensuring that Hong Kong is well positioned to benefit from various anticipated tourism trends and making recommendations to the Tourism Commission on the development of policies and infrastructure.
      Representative on International Travel Industry
      6) Ensuring that the interests of the Hong Kong tourism industry are effectively protected and potential business opportunities are focused on Hong Kong by representing and advocating the benefits of Hong Kong at international National Tourism Organisation forums and Tourism Trade events.
      Develop Strategic Alliances
      7) Ensuring that the HKTB creates a business platform which is conducive for local and international tourism trade to form strategic alliances.
      Internal Operations
      8) Leading and motivating for continuous improvement, planning and executing for excellence and establishing a team-oriented culture across the whole organisation.
      9) Ensuring sound governance and results driven mandate through establishing a set of policies and procedures for operations and revising them as and when needed.
      10) Strengthening staff’s alignment on corporate mission and fostering employer branding of the HKTB in order to attract and retain high caliber professional staff.
    Requirements:
    • At least 10 years of senior general management experience in multinational business organisation.
    • Proven track record on driving business performance, formulating innovative marketing strategies and managing a team that span across multiple countries.
    • Sound knowledge of the tourism industry and trade would be an advantage.
    • Experience in formulating and implementing business and marketing plans that span across a timeframe of 3 years or more. Demonstrated skills in translating ideas and concepts into action plans and has the will as well as stamina to ensure quality and speedy execution.
    • Strong marketing sense with sound experience in strategic planning, business goal management, customer focus, risk management, team orientation & people management, multicultural awareness, and a logical and flexible approach to problem solving.
    • Solid experience in handling media and representing the organisation in delivering its positions and messages.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, influential and motivational leadership skills for building and maintaining both internal and external relationships. Diplomatic and mature approach to gain buy-in from different stakeholders is a must.
