Smart tourism has become a global trend in which information technologies and smart innovations play a significant role in the tourism and hospitality industries. With the extensive use of web-based tourist information, a visitor’s first impression of the destination and businesses will be formed through internet browsing.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (“HKTB”) is pleased to announce the continuation of the Google Partnership Campaign (“the Programme”). The Programme aims to list QTS-accredited merchants on one of the world’s dominant online map platforms, Google Maps. HKTB will assist in setting up and verifying a Google My Business (GMB) account and deploying a 360°-view virtual tour for one outlet per merchant on Google Maps.* This will help QTS-accredited merchants enhance their digital footprints and competitiveness.
All QTS-accredited merchants will be automatically included in the Programme. HKTB’s appointed service provider, MapKing International Limited, will contact those QTS-accredited merchants that have not yet joined the Programme to follow up.
For enquiries about the Programme, please contact Tiffany Cheung from MapKing International Limited at 2544 7680.
We look forward to your participation.
Yours sincerely,
QTS Secretariat Hong Kong Tourism Board
*GMB account creation and verification are to be handled solely by the merchant with technical assistance offered by the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s appointed service provider, MapKing International Limited. All rights (whether legal or beneficial, registered or not) to the photos and virtual tours shall belong to HKTB absolutely and exclusively throughout the world in perpetuity and in any media.
