Come experience the vibrancy of Hong Kong Chinese New Year Celebrations! (To Hotels & Resorts)

To welcome the Year of the Snake, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is pleased to share with you an array of Chinese New Year celebration spotlight events for visitors.

Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade (10 February)
The 2013 Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade (ICNYP) will mark a splendid start to the Year of the Snake. Organised by the HKTB, the annual spectacle, this year themed “happy@hongkong”, will rave up the excitement in Tsim Sha Tsui with a procession of brilliant floats and spirited performers.

This world-famous night parade will definitely bring both excitement and enjoyment to visitors and cannot be missed. You can encourage your guests to join the local residents to view the parade free of charge along the parade route.  For details, please click here or refer to the official web-site of the event.

Hong Kong Well-wishing Festival (10 - 23 February)
Another great way for visitors to experience the Hong Kong traditions during Chinese New Year is to participate in the Hong Kong Well-wishing Festival at Lam Tsuen, Tai Po.  This Festival provides visitors the opportunity to participate in the colourful traditional customs of rural villages through three key programmes: “Hong Kong Cultural Heritage Village”, “Landmark of the Wishing Windmill” and “Meizhou Performance and Poon Choi Feast to Celebrate the Chinese New Year”. Visitors could also try their hand in throwing “Wishing-placards” to the ‘Wishing Tree’ to make a wish, releasing water lanterns, and also sampling local village food such as “Poon Choi”, etc. For more details, please click here or refer to the event website.

Lunar New Year Fireworks Display (11 February)
Hundreds of thousands will line both sides of iconic Victoria Harbour on the second day of the Chinese New Year as they celebrate the Year of the Snake with a spectacular night of fireworks. Please click here for the event details.

Other Festive Happenings and Information
You can recommend your in-town guests to catch all the fun and excitement during the festive season, to enjoy a truly memorable holiday experience.

We have sent the Chinese New Year Celebrations Events Guide to your hotel.  Please share with your guests to facilitate their participation in the event.
