Hello Hong Kong

25 November 2024

Invitation to Training Seminar:
Creating Muslim-Friendly Hospitality Experiences

The Muslim community represents a significant and potential consumer segment for Hong Kong. By 2030, the global Muslim population is projected to reach 27%, expanding at a rate exceeding the global average. In recognition of this, the 2024 Policy Address highlighted the importance of developing tourism from the Middle East and ASEAN regions, encouraging community-wide enhancements to tourism support and the creation of a welcoming environment for visitors.

Following the success of our inaugural seminar, "Unveiling Potential: Hong Kong as a Muslim-Friendly Travel Destination" in June 2024, we continue our efforts to enhance the hospitality industry’s capacity to welcome Muslim visitors. While we have observed positive developments, further progress within the food and beverage sector is crucial.

Therefore, we are pleased to invite you to our upcoming training seminar “Creating Muslim-Friendly Hospitality Experiences” that aims to provide valuable insights into the needs of Muslim travellers and introduce Hong Kong’s halal certification scheme.

Additionally, a Halal Marketplace will be set up, bringing together around 6 Halal certified product suppliers and related services providers to facilitate networking and explore business opportunities.
