The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Cathay Pacific Airways jointly launched the DiscoverHongKong (DHK) Mobile App Series on 17 May 2011, one of the world’s first smart phone travel application series that makes use of the Augmented Reality technology (AR).
The DHK Mobile App Series, which introduced the application of "DiscoverHongKong．AR", has proven to be a useful tool for visitors coming to Hong Kong since its launch. HKTB is now planning for phase two enhancement with the Accommodation Module added, giving visitors the information of hotel location maps, reference rates, facilities and F&B outlets available at their finger tips.
To ensure data populated in the App is up-to-date, all hotel partners are requested to login to PartnerNet to update all their information,in particular the following fields which will be pulled from PartnerNet for the development of the new Accommodation Module:
Company Profile - please provide no more than 100 words in English, and 80 words in Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese respectively
Room Type and Room Rate
Hotel Facilities
Food & Beverage Outlets and Cuisine Type
Besides data update, please also provide us one high resolution image of your property via email to trade_services@hktb.com. Photo specifications are: 640px X 480px, 300dpi, RGB, size should be between 500KB to 1MB in horizontal orientation, entrance or hotel façade is preferred.
The "DiscoverHongKong．AR" phase two enhancement is target to be completed in early 2012. To enable us to keep up with the tight production schedule, we hope all hotel partners can complete the information update in PartnerNet by 23 September 2011 and thereafter, updating it at the end of every month if there is any information changed.
