Background Music Broadcasting Arrangement for 'A Symphony of Lights' during Chinese New Year 2026 Events
The Tourism Commission annouced to tie in with the upcoming events during the Chinese New Year period, the broadcasting arrangement of the background music for “A Symphony of Lights” (SoL) at Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai waterfront will be revised as follows:
Lunar New Year’s Eve: 16 February 2026 (Monday)
The full rehearsal for the “International Chinese New Year Night Parade” will take place on the evening of 16 February 2026. The broadcasting of background music for SoL along the waterfront between Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) and Hong Kong Museum of Art will be temporarily suspended;
The lighting effects of SoL will not be affected by the above arrangement, and the show will be staged as usual that evening; and
The background music for the show will continue to be broadcast at the Viewing Deck of HKCC and the Avenue of Stars. Spectators can also tune into the music through the dedicated mobile application. The QR codes for downloading the app are as follows:

Lunar New Year’s Day: 17 February 2026 (Tuesday)
The “International Chinese New Year Night Parade” will take place on the evening of 17 February 2026. The broadcasting of background music for SoL along the waterfront between HKCC and Hong Kong Museum of Art (including the Viewing Deck) will be temporarily suspended;
The lighting effects of SoL will not be affected by the above arrangement, and the show will be staged as usual that evening; and
The background music for the show will continue to be broadcast at the Avenue of Stars. Spectators can also tune into the music through the dedicated mobile application.
The second day of Lunar New Year: 18 February 2026 (Wednesday)
The Chinese New Year Fireworks Display will take place at 8 p.m. on 18 February 2026. The broadcasting of background music at all SoL vantage points (including Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai waterfront, and the Avenue of Stars) will be temporarily suspended and replaced by the background music of the fireworks display; and
The lighting effects of SoL will not be affected by the above arrangement, and the show will be staged as usual that evening.
