Season's Greetings!
Here in Hong Kong we're already celebrating, having yet again been voted the Favourite Business City in the World at the 2011 Business Traveller China Awards.
Just one more reason why Hong Kong continues to host many major events. In recent months we had the first conference in Asia of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) with 80% more delegates than the previous one, and the very first WineFuture Hong Kong that further cemented Hong Kong's position as Asia's wine hub.
More celebrations and festivities are in store at the annual Hong Kong WinterFest, which started on 25 November and runs through to New Year's Day. MICE visitors can look forward to some fabulous deals on shopping and dining as well as exciting activities and entertainment including a Tiffany tree, Ice Wonderland and special shows at Ocean Park and Hong Kong Disneyland!
The MEHK team wishes all MICE planners a prosperous 2012 and every success in your ventures!

HK's exhibition industry generates to HK$35.8 billion |
The latest in a series of biennial Economic Impact Study reports shows that activities associated with Hong Kong’s exhibition industry contributed HK$35.8 billion (US$4.6 billion) to the local economy in 2010, equivalent to 2.1% of Hong Kong’s total GDP. Compared with findings in the previous report, which covered 2008, all the indicators moved upwards showing positive compound annual growth rates (CAGR) averaging 8.7%.
The report, commissioned by the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA), attributes the strong growth of the past two years to the continued high level of global sourcing activities for products from Mainland China and other Asian countries. At the same time, businesses from around the world are increasingly looking to use Hong Kong’s exhibition platform to introduce their products to the growing markets in Mainland China and other Asian markets.
