Hong Kong Tourism Board Announces New Appointments

To further strengthen management of core and emerging markets and enhance the efforts on developing strategic markets in different regions to drive more overnight visitor arrivals to Hong Kong, Mr Anthony Lau, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), is pleased to announce the following new appointments effective 1 July 2019.

 

Americas

Ms Cynthia Leung has been appointed General Manager, Corporate Affairs and Regional Director, the Americas. Under her new appointment, Ms Leung directs the Americas region in addition to her Corporate Affairs responsibilities.  Mr Bill Flora (Director, USA) and Mr Michael Lim (Director, Canada, Central & South Americas) report to Ms Leung.

 

Europe

Mr Kenneth Wong has been appointed General Manager, MICE & Cruise and Regional Director, Europe. In addition to Mr Wong’s MICE and Cruise responsibilities, he spearheads the acceleration of the development of the European region, including Russia.  Ms Anette Wendel-Menke (Director, Central Europe), Ms Dawn Page (Director, UK and Northern Europe) and Ms Solange Johnston (Director, France & French Speaking Europe) report to Mr Wong.

 

Southeast Asia

Mr Raymond Chan (Regional Director, Southeast Asia) has expanded his role to cover the whole Southeast Asian region, including the current 5 core markets (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand), as well as Vietnam and other future strategic markets in the region.

 

South Asia and Middle East

Mr Puneet Kumar has been appointed Director, South Asia & Middle East. In his new capacity, Mr Kumar leads the newly created South Asia and Middle East region, which includes India and GCC countries, as well as other future strategic markets. Prior to this appointment, Mr Kumar was Director, Market Development (India) for the HKTB.

 

Mr Lau expresses confidence in the above new appointments, “With their extensive experience, I am sure they can further contribute to the development of the above regions. I wish them every success in their new roles.”
