Post Date: 21 Nov 2022
Details:

The first batch of the fourth round of Spend-to-Redeem “Local Tours” of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) received overwhelming responses with all tours fully redeemed on the first day of launch. Details of the second batch with new exciting itineraries are now available on the campaign website (https://www.discoverhongkong.com/hk-eng/deals/in-town-offers/local-tours.html) and the Appendix. Interested parties may check out the details of the tours and select from about 170 itineraries, and sign up with tour operators through the designated methods listed on the tour webpage from 10am tomorrow (22 November). All tours are available first-come, firstserved.

The second batch of itineraries continue from the previous five themes: History & Heritage, Lively Culture, Neighbourhoods, Scenic Harbour and Gastro-Fantasies. Participants may become a time traveller and have a look at artefacts from the New Stone Age or visit a tree house with a history of over four centuries; become a connoisseur of the local fishery industry; or enjoy a chillaxing alfresco yoga session in the coastal breeze. Options such as sightseeing on a cruise and feasts with international cuisines are also available.

The paid premium tours also offer diverse experiences. Participants can pay a top-up fee of up to HK$200 to enjoy add-value experiences such as a Thai cookery class, diffuser tray/ skincare product/ mosaic candlestand DIY workshop. Other add-on experiences include organic farm visits, hotel seafood feast and many more.

Keep Your Spending Receipts and Comply with Vaccine Pass Requirements

Members of the public simply need to spend HK$800 at physical retail or dining outlets in Hong Kong and keep the original machine-printed receipts for redeeming a quota in a free tour or a quota in a paid premium tour with an additional fee. (Each redemption accepts a maximum of two receipts, issued on or after 20 October 2022). All tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Upon receiving a notification of their registration by the corresponding tour operator, participants will need to submit to the tour operator, prior to the tour day: the original spending receipt(s), together with a deposit of HK$100 per person (which will be returned on the day of the tour), as well as the designated tour fee if they have signed up for a premium tour. After the tour operator verifies the details, the tour operator will confirm the registration. As per the Government’s latest anti-epidemic requirements, all participating tour operators must pledge strict compliance with the “Anti-epidemic Undertakings for Local Tours” set by the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong. In addition, all participants must comply with the latest vaccination requirements under the Vaccine Pass. Some tour operators may also require participants to take a rapid antigen test before the tour.
