In response to the Central Government’s announcement today (29 November) of the resumption of “Multiple-Entry” Individual Visit Endorsements for permanent residents of Shenzhen, and that of the new arrangement of expanding the Endorsement to non-permanent residents of Shenzhen with Residence Permit starting from Sunday (1 December), Dr Pang Yiu-kai, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), expressed welcome and gratitude: “Throughout the year, the Central Government has increased the number of applicable cities of the Individual Visit Scheme (IVS) to 59 cities nationwide, which has expanded Hong Kong’s visitor source. Furthermore, the resumption and expansion of the ‘Multiple-Entry’ Individual Visit Endorsements for Shenzhen residents will provide greater convenience to Shenzhen residents who travel to Hong Kong and facilitate the exchange of people of the two cities. This can help attract more Shenzhen residents to visit Hong Kong.”
HKTB partners with the trade to launch various offers and promotions
In light of the implementation of the new arrangement, HKTB works with different transport operators and e-payment platforms to progressively roll out cross-boundary transport and spending promotions for Shenzhen visitors. The HKTB also steps up promotions on social media to attract Shenzhen travellers to Hong Kong and stimulate consumption:
