The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is hosting its signature annual seasonal event – Hong Kong Winterfest – from 14 November 2025 to 4 January 2026. This year’s event will see the debut of a partnership between the HKTB and Hongkong Land that will present “Winter Wonderland in Central”. The collaboration will see Statue Square Garden in Central turned into a Christmas Town featuring the return of Hong Kong’s much-loved 20-metre outdoor Christmas tree, while Chater Road will be lit up as a Starlight Boulevard to extend the joyful atmosphere by connecting seamlessly with the largest festive installation ever in LANDMARK ATRIUM, “Noëlia at LANDMARK,”– an annual installation that much of Hong Kong eagerly awaits, extending the joyful atmosphere across the district. Meanwhile, iconic locations in Central will be illuminated in unison for a dazzling “Immersive Light Show in Central” that will spread a spectacular cascade of colour across the district throughout the holiday season.

The HKTB will also team up with retail and dining partners to deliver a sleigh-full of exclusive seasonal promotions across the city, spreading goodwill and encouraging locals and tourists to celebrate Christmas and the New Year in style in Hong Kong and boost consumption.

Transforming Central into a Winter Wonderland with Hongkong Land (14 November 2025 – 4 January 2026)

HKTB Chairman Dr Peter Lam said, “This year’s Hong Kong WinterFest is being presented in a new format and features the most extensive lineup and richest event elements to date. We aim to create a strong festive atmosphere citywide and reinforce Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s top winter travel destination. We are delighted to collaborate with Hongkong Land to turn Central into a Winter Wonderland. Together with the new “Immersive Light Show in Central”, Central will become a brand new festive hotspot. This initiative not only enhances the holiday experience for locals and visitors but also stimulates the seasonal economy. We are grateful for the widespread support from industry partners, including the Quality Tourism Services Association, Hong Kong Retail Management Association, and a wide range of attractions and malls who are joining hands to offer festive dining, shopping deals, and activities.”

“Winter Wonderland in Central” co-organiser, Hongkong Land Chief Executive, Mr Michael Smith said: “As the largest landlord in Central, we are delighted to collaborate with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to transform the heart of Hong Kong into a Winter Wonderland, presenting an unforgettable Christmas celebration for residents and visitors. In line with the event, we are working alongside our tenants and business partners on a series of exciting festive experiences for customers both inside our portfolio and the surrounding spaces. We hope this annual winter extravaganza will encourage more residents and tourists to enjoy Hong Kong - a city we have been committed to for generations.”

Statue Square Garden in Central is Turned into a joyous Christmas Town with Return of Iconic Christmas Tree (14 November 2025- 4 January 2026)

From Friday 14 November, Statue Square Garden in Central will be turned into a joyous Christmas Town with the welcome return of an annual highlight – a 20-meter outdoor Christmas tree that is as high as a six-storey building. The towering tree will be wrapped in shimmering ribbons, making it look like an enormous Christmas gift.

The Christmas Town area will be packed with classic toy-themed decorations such as spaceships, puppets, and miniature trains, and will host live carol performance and surprise appearances by Santa Claus to add to the festive atmosphere in the run-up to Christmas.

A Christmas market featuring 12 chalets will open on 28 November, offering a wide variety of seasonal food, festive gifts, and workshops for locals and tourists to enjoy as they celebrate the joyful season together.

Chater Road's Starlight Boulevard and LANDMARK's Giant Wishing Lake, Seamlessly Extending the Town's Festive Magic

Extending the joyous spirit of the Christmas Town, Chater Road will undergo a magical transformation into a Starlight Boulevard. These displays revive a rich heritage, dating back 60 years to when Hongkong Land first illuminated Chater Road with the city’s earliest recorded festive lights. Over 30 trees along Chater Road will be adorned with shimmering lights, creating a festive atmosphere in the outside space.

The pedestrian footbridges will be aglow, and a Christmas tree light installation will be suspended above the entrance to Chater House, creating a striking visual centrepiece for the display. Every evening at 5:00 PM, these lights will transform Chater road into an outdoor Christmas experience not to be missed.

As visitors continue their journey beneath the golden canopy of light, they will reach “Noëlia at LANDMARK” within the LANDMARK ATRIUM. This enchanting 30 meter wide installation featuring a 11 meter high lighthouse not only offers numerous photo-worthy moments for friends and family but also proudly features Hong Kong's largest interactive 12x12 meter Wishing Lake. Exclusive entry privileges will be granted to customers who make purchases at the Christmas market. Additionally, customers at LANDMARK during the promotion period will unlock multiple festive benefits, including extra BESPOKE reward points, exclusive gifts, and installation tickets. Full terms and conditions are available on LANDMARK’s official website.

Eight Iconic Buildings in Central are Linked for First Time to Present a Dreamlike “Immersive Lights Show in Central” (28 November 2025- 4 January 2026)

From 28 November, the heart of Central will become a magical and mesmerizing Winter Wonderland. Eight iconic buildings in the area – the Bank of China Building, the Bank of China Tower, the Court of Final Appeal Building, Hong Kong City Hall High Block, the Hong Kong Club Building, the HSBC Main Building,  Prince’s Building and the Standard Chartered Bank building– will for the first time be connected to form a giant canvas to present an innovative immersive performance called the  “Immersive Light Show in Central”.

The iconic buildings will be used as a canvas of light, colour, and shade, showcasing dynamic Christmas images such as angels, snowmen, reindeer, and Christmas gifts through 3D projection mapping and lighting effects, accompanied by music. Some animations will move gracefully across buildings and leap onto the trees in Winter Wonderland, creating a thrilling multi-layered visual experience that turns Central into a brand-new festive spot and highlights the unique dynamism of Hong Kong’s nighttime cityscape.

HKTB Teams Up with Retail and Dining Partners To Launch Exclusive Winter Offers and Boost Festive Spending

Hong Kong WinterFest brings festive cheer to everyone across the city. In December, the HKTB will team up with the Quality Tourism Services Association and the Hong Kong Retail Management Association to launch “WinterFest Delights”. The promotion will feature over 300 curated offers across dining, shopping, attractions, and transport inviting residents and visitors to spread a spirit of seasonal cheer throughout Hong Kong. Highlights include a variety of buy-one-get-one-free offers. The initiative aims to entice more locals and visitors to shop, spend, and celebrate as they make Hong Kong their destination for Christmas and the New Year.

Citywide Festive Hotspots: Celebrations Across Hong Kong Make the City Asia’s Top Winter Destination

Meanwhile, various attractions, shopping malls, and dining and retail merchants across Hong Kong will also launch a wide range of offers and festive activities. The New Year’s Eve countdown fireworks display will serve as one of the major highlights of the ‘Hong Kong WinterFest,’ making a spectacular finale.

The HKTB will launch a one-stop Hong Kong WinterFest platform, collating seasonal hotspots across the city—including attractions, malls, restaurants, and retailers—and ensuring locals and visitors alike are equipped to make the very most of Hong Kong’s holiday calendar, while reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s top winter travel destination.
