Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Honors Travel Trade Partners at “Celebration of Sales Excellence 2017”

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) hosted its prestigious annual “Celebration of Sales Excellence 2017” (CSE) on May 25 to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its travel trade partners over the past year, and to recognize their on-going support to HKDL. This year, the event cordially invited friends and families of the travel trade partners. Besides joining in the magical celebration featuring the newly-launched atmosphere stage show “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration” coupled with an array of stunning offerings from “Carnivale of Stars,” they also enjoyed an overnight staycation at the exotic Disney Explorers Lodge.  

“HKDL is loved and recognized by our guests thanks to the tremendous support by our travel trade partners. At the annual CSE, while celebrating the outstanding achievements of our trade partners, we would like to show them our deepest gratitude for their efforts in spreading Disney magic. With Disney creativity in mind, our team have planned an exclusive Disney staycation together with a series of all-new entertainment offerings, allowing attendees to not only immerse in Disney magic, but also deepen their understanding of our resort offerings.” said James Tung, director, travel trade sales, HKDL. “We look forward to achieving new milestones with industry partners through exploring new business opportunities and rolling out more diversified and innovative products for our guests.”

A total of 26 awards were presented during CSE in recognition of the outstanding sales achievements of travel trade partners in 2017. The Sales Excellence Award was awarded to top 20 distinguished partners while five partners brought home the Sales AdvancEAR Award. The winner of the Top Sales AchievEAR Award was lvmama.com, this is the second consecutive year lvmama.com received the ceremony’s highest honor.

This year, the trade partners were accompanied by their families and friends to celebrate the distinguished achievements. Throughout the CSE evening, HKDL arranged a lineup of surprise greetings from Disney Stars of “Carnivale of Stars,” including Nick and Judy from Zootopia, the heroine Moana, Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone from The Incredibles, and all the guests were invited to become part of the interactive performances. Guests were captivated as if they were dazzled into the world of a vivacious and joyful carnival, creating many unforgettable Disney memories. After indulging in an exquisite buffet dinner with Disney-themed delights, prepared by the talented culinary creators of HKDL, guests were taken to the Main Street, U.S.A. to enjoy a special viewing of the spectacular “We Love Mickey!” Projection Show and a networking drink at World of Color Restaurant at Disney Explorers Lodge to conclude the extraordinary evening of magical entertainment.

An elevated approach to enhance Disney’s magical storytelling and create memorable experiences

With new attractions and entertainment offerings launching through 2023, the latest atmosphere stage show ‘Moana: A Homecoming Celebration’ is a prelude to HKDL’s multi-year expansion. Brand-new entertainment offerings will allow us to create more wondrous collaboration platform and prospects with the travel trade, helping us to achieve new business heights together in the coming years,” Tung added.

The all-new 20-minute atmosphere stage show “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration” takes place in Jungle Junction, an entirely new outdoor venue in Adventureland. This new show, featuring inspirational visual storytelling, dancing, puppetry and music, recounts the adventures of Moana after she returns to her home village of Motunui. Guests can join this interactive show with Moana, six performers and two live drummers as they share Moana’s epic adventures with the demigod, Maui, to restore the heart of Te Fiti, the mother island who gives life. Throughout the show, performers are playing multiple roles as they re-tell Moana’s adventures, with the use of different voices, acting, choreography and props, inspiring guests’ imaginations and creativity, further immersing them in the show.

Following the launch of “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration”, the second Marvel ride-through experience at the resort, that invites guests to team-up with Ant-Man and The Wasp, targets to open in 2019. HKDL has become an ultimate hub for exciting Marvel experiences in Asia. The transformation of the park’s iconic centerpiece, the castle, has also begun. The newly transformed venue will be home to a new daytime show and nighttime spectacular in 2020. HKDL will also be welcoming an all-new, immersive Frozen-themed area in 2021, where guests can experience unique attractions and entertainment.
