This inaugural event was marked by the presence of both the wax figure and the esteemed Yim Siwan himself, emphasizing the bond between the figure and its real-life counterpart.

Yim Siwan, who began his career in the boy band ZE:A before transitioning into acting, has made a name for himself on the silver screen. His portrayal of various roles with exceptional skill has garnered widespread recognition and a devoted fan base globally. The unveiling of Yim Siwan's wax figure in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong facilitates a unique opportunity for fans to stand shoulder to shoulder with the figure, joining the illustrious company of other renowned Korean celebrities such as  Si-won Choi, Kim Soo-Hyun, TVXQ!, and Suzy Bae, among others.

As part of the celebration, Yim Siwan generously donated his full attire from the 74th Cannes Film Festival, where the blockbuster disaster film 'Emergency Declaration' premiered in the out-of-competition category film. His princely appearance captivated audiences and media outlets on the spot while his remarkable acting skills on-set garnered him several accolades, including ‘Best Supporting Actor’ from the Korean Film Producers Association Awards and the Buil Film Awards. To immortalize one of his career highlights as an actor, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong proudly adorns his wax figure in his perfectly fitted vintage outfit, symbolizing a pivotal moment of his elegant sophistication and timeless charm for generations to admire.

Wade Chang, the General Manager of Hong Kong Cluster, Merlin Entertainments, expressed his excitement stating, “As South Korean pop culture — especially K-pops and K-dramas — continues to captivate many individuals across the globe, we are thrilled to host Yim Siwan’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. His versatile artistry and commitment to pushing boundaries in the entertainment industry are truly commendable, and we aim to capture his spirit through this installation.”

At the event, Mr. Kim Yoon-ho, Director of Korea, Hong Kong Tourism Board, said, “As a renowned attraction nestled at the Peak in Hong Kong, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong's decision to create a wax figure of Yim Siwan to celebrate his global acclaim is truly delightful. We believe that the realistic-looking wax figures of beloved Korean celebrities and international icons not only provide fans with memorable experiences, but also inspire tourists from South Korea and beyond to visit Hong Kong.”

Reflecting on the sitting process took place last year, Yim Siwan found discussions with the Madame Tussauds sculpting team about the pose of the wax figure particularly engaging. He proactively brainstormed with the team to enhance the figure's connection with his fans by introducing a personal touch.

Expressing his gratitude, he shared, “It feels like yesterday when I received the invitation of creating my first wax figure. This truly is a dream come true, as I've always felt that having my own wax figure would be the pinnacle of my career. I am deeply grateful for this incredible opportunity.”
