The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) recently rolled out a new summer promotional campaign “Summer Chill Hong Kong”. Starting from today (11 July), HKTB will hand out 500,000 sets of “Summer Triple Rewards” to all overnight visitors to Hong Kong. With the Rewards, visitors can enjoy special spending discounts in transport/sightseeing, dining and retail. HKTB is also stepping up promotions on the city’s summer excitement in various visitor source markets, focusing on attracting young and family travellers to enjoy a summer holiday in Hong Kong.

 

500,000 Sets of “Summer Triple Rewards” Up for Grab by Overnight Visitors Starting Today

 

Starting today, HKTB is handing out 500,000 sets of “Summer Triple Rewards” under the “Summer Chill Hong Kong” campaign to all overnight visitors for free. Each set contains one spending coupon each for transport/sightseeing, dining and retail, with different discounts on purchases up to a value of over HK$500. Visitors can collect the Rewards for free upon check-in at any of the 200-plus participating local hotels or at one of HKTB’s designated counters. Each overnight visitor is entitled to one set of Rewards.

Eligibility
Upon presenting their original travel document, all overnight visitors with a booking record of Hong Kong accommodation of one night or more, or a return ticket for a flight, train, bus or ferry, are eligible for the rewards.
Collection
  1. Upon check-in at any of the 200+ participating local hotels, overnight visitors may collect their rewards according to the number of people staying in the hotel.

Diverse Promotions on Hong Kong’s Summer Excitement to Attract Young & Family Travellers

 

In parallel with the “Summer Chill Hong Kong” campaign, HKTB is showcasing Hong Kong’s summer ambience, exciting event line-up and tourism hangouts through different channels, targeting different key visitor source markets to attract more young and family travellers to visit Hong Kong.

 

Mainland: Joint summer storytelling photography event with Xiaomi

 

In Mainland markets, HKTB has teamed up with smart lifestyle company Xiaomi to present “Summer Chill Hong Kong” thematic advertisement through Xiaomi Smart TV and smart phones, which is expected to generate more than 100 million audience reach. HKTB and Xiaomi will also organise the “Xiaomi Photography Award in Collaboration with Leica (Hong Kong Edition)”. Through the art of mobile photography, the event encourages the public to record and share their Hong Kong stories and showcase Hong Kong’s rich and diverse summer experiences. HKTB will recommend relevant humanistic travel experiences and photo-worthy itineraries on the Xiaomi platform, providing travellers with a wide range of travel inspiration.

 

HKTB is also stepping up promotions in the Mainland’s 10 new Individual Visit Scheme cities and the fivehour Express Rail Link circle, demonstrating Hong Kong’s appeal in culture and tourism to attract more first-time visitors and making Hong Kong the best Asian tourism destination for the summer holiday among Mainland travellers.

 

 

  In Shanghai and other popular travel destinations for independent travellers, HKTB is maximising the publicity effect by creating a vibrant ambience for Hong Kong with thematic decor on sightseeing buses in the bustling streets.

 

South Korea: Follow “Korean oppas” for an outdoor summer in Hong Kong

 

To showcase the countless outdoor summer activities in Hong Kong, HKTB produced a summer promo on the city’s rich outdoor experiences, ranging from sunshine and beaches to island exploration and countryside hiking. Three young charismatic male Korean travellers lead the audience through Hong Kong’s great outdoors, piquing travellers’ interest in visiting Hong Kong. The video will be shown on HKTB’s official website and social media platforms in Korean markets as well as selected metro stations in Seoul.

     

HKTB has also put vibrant murals of Hong Kong in Seongsu Dong, a popular checkpoint among young consumers in South Korea, to ramp up local Koreans’ interest in visiting Hong Kong as they take pictures with the street art.

 

  

 Japan: Hop onto Hong Kong’s latest shopping & dining trends with popular travel YouTubers

 

HKTB has invited two popular Japanese travel YouTubers to come to Hong Kong for a “Seeing is Believing” experience to showcase the exciting experiences in “Summer Triple Rewards” and how to use them. The YouTubers will also introduce the various activities of one of the world’s largest Doraemon exhibitions, “100% DORAEMON & FRIENDS”, as well as Hong Kong’s delectable food offerings. Southeast Asia: Media familiarisation trip for Hong Kong’s hidden gems

 

HKTB will launch a new campaign to introduce the city’s hidden gems to Southeast Asian travellers including the city’s culinary, nature, entertainment and cultural experiences. HKTB has invited more than 30 media representatives from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines to the city. The media representatives will visit Lai Chi Wo, Ping Chau, Mui Wo, Tsz Shan Monastery and other hidden oases in the city, highlighting the city’s experiences of “tourism being everywhere in Hong Kong”. HKTB also promotes Hong Kong’s summer attractions and activities by inviting popular influencers for first-hand experience and sharing, and online advertisement.

From today until 8 August (Thursday), HKTB is partnering with the organiser, creative brand AllRightsReserved to bring the character’s gadget, “Anywhere Door”, to the city. The “Anywhere Door” will be erected at 10 popular locations across Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, one at each spot. Each door, more than 2m tall in the actual scale, showcases a unique landmark in the city. Explore the city, spot the pink doors, take your photos, and redeem them for a free pin or premium gift!

 

The “Anywhere Door” can be found at: Hong Kong Museum of Art (Art Square, Forecourt of HKMoA), the Peak Tower, Kwun Tong Promenade, Cochrane Street in Central (near Hollywood Road), Central Pier, Chater Garden in Central West Kowloon Cultural District (Secret Garden, Art Park), Temple Street (Yung Shu Tau), Wan Chai Water Sports and Recreation Precinct, and *PMQ (*The installation and redemption of souvenirs will begin on 12 July).

Doraemon-themed drone show returning

 

In light of the popular reception to the drone show in May, AllRightsReserved plans to bring back the drone show to the Avenue of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui tentatively on 20 July (Saturday) with new elements. One thousand drones will present classic characters and scenes from the beloved Doraemon comic series to recall your childhood memories.
