The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) recently hosted the Connect Hong Kong, bringing together over 50 travel buyers from Southeast Asia and more than 150 local tourism industry representatives to foster new partnerships and strengthen Hong Kong's position as a leading travel destination.

Key travel agents from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore, participated in a tailored familiarisation trip. Highlights included an exclusive visit to the Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival, led by expert wine connoisseurs, and a Halloween-themed tour, offering a deep dive into the city's festive culture and leisure opportunities. These experiences equipped our attendees with valuable insights to effectively promote Hong Kong's festivals to both leisure and corporate travellers.

In alignment with government policies, our focus has extended to enhancing amenities for Muslim travellers. To acknowledge the improvements from our merchant partners, participants from Indonesia and Malaysia were introduced to the enhanced Muslim-friendly amenities in hotels and attractions. This may encourage them to promote Hong Kong to all the potential Muslim travellers from the SEA market.

Beyond showcasing Hong Kong’s festive and culinary delights, Connect Hong Kong facilitated knowledge exchange and meaningful networking among key stakeholders in the Southeast Asia travel market.
