Description: |
The culture of fragrance has a long history in China. The use and appreciation of fragrances were closely intertwined with the aesthetics of life and artistic creation in ancient China. This exhibition showcases a constellation of precious artefacts, including ceramics, bamboo carvings, paintings and bronze objects from the collections of the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Shanghai Museum. Spanning from the Neolithic period to the 20th century, this exhibition takes the audience on an olfactory journey across thousands of years, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of Chinese fragrance culture.
*This exhibition is part of the Chinese Culture Festival 2024
