HK Phil 25/26 Season Finale: Tarmo Peltokoski Conducts A Sea Symphony

Nature: Music performances
Organiser(s): Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra
Description: Salonen’s introspective Pollux draws inspiration from the mythological twin of the Gemini constellation. Vaughan Williams’ expansive A Sea Symphony, which sets the poetry of Walt Whitman, charts a spiritual voyage across the ocean, with its themes of exploration and humanity. Featuring soprano Chen Reiss, bass-baritone André Schuen and the HK Phil Chorus, the HK Phil sets sail on a musical odyssey. This performance is a fitting grand finale for Tarmo Peltokoski’s season as Music Director Designate, as well as setting the stage for a much-anticipated tenure as Music Director commencing in the 2026/27 season.
