The exhibition features an eight-channel video installation, A Day, which combines real-life footage captured from a first-person perspective, found materials and data-generated images. It explores the coexistence of AI-generated images and 3D reconstructions with human memories, illusions and dreams, examining how images are embedded in our subconscious. Through these diverse reflections, Zhang gradually transforms the audience’s experiential understanding of the real world. The work guides viewers through everyday public and private spaces, prompting reflection on bodily impairment and the limits of life, while hinting at the concept of deviation in psychological states and social norms through the dual dimensions of vision and cognition.
