The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is committed to elevate Hong Kong’s Muslim Friendliness for Muslim travellers and is pleased to introduce the “Tips for Welcoming Muslim Travellers” training materials.

In the Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2025, Hong Kong has risen from fourth place last year to third place this year in the category of “Muslim-friendly Destinations (non-Organisation of Islamic Cooperation)”, and has also been named the “Most Promising Muslim-friendly Destination of the Year.” These achievements testify to Hong Kong and the industry’s efforts in promoting inclusive tourism.

Continuing these achievements, the HKTB has developed training resources to help frontline industry staff gain a better understanding of Muslim visitors’ needs, thereby delivering high-quality service. This training content, endorsed by the Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong (BOT), is a vital part of our efforts to build a more inclusive tourism environment.

The online training materials feature engaging video and practical infographics covering key topics such as Muslim greeting etiquette, dietary practices, prayer rituals, dress code, festivals and observances. These resources are now available at PartnerNet for frontline staff across various sectors to access at any time, empowering them to provide thoughtful and professional service. The website content will be regularly updated. We warmly invite all trade partners to promote these resources to their teams and frontline staff, and collaborate in elevating service standards.

Your contributions are making a significant impact. Let us continue our invaluable efforts in transforming Hong Kong into a more diverse and inclusive tourism destination.
