On the 13th day of the second lunar month, the residents of Ap Lei Chau celebrate Hung Shing Festival, an event that has over a hundred years of history. The festival pays homage to Hung Shing, with celebrants seeking blessings from the deity for good weather and peace in the neighbourhood. A series of events is held annually, including the blessing of dragon boats, lion dances, a festival parade, religious operas, water lanterns night, and more. |
