Details: | Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the drone show on May 11 concluded successfully. The performance was themed around the traditional festivities of the Birthday of Buddha and the Cheung Chau Bun Festival to promote the local culture and spread blessings . Locals and visitors gathered along the coast in Wan Chai, creating a lively ambience.
A thousand drones hovered about 90 metres above Victoria Harbour, forming different dynamic patterns depicting elements from the traditional festivals. The most spectacular and eye-catching displays were the 60- metre-high giant bun tower and the 30-metre “lucky bun”. Illuminated patterns of the flower board, dancing lions and Chinese knots attracted the public and tourists to watch along the shoreline. Many cameras were raised to capture the exciting moments, and the spectacle bustled in joy.
HKTB gave away free ice cream in the evening as a small token to enhance the joyous ambience. Some came with their friends and families to enjoy this sweet surprise.
