In celebration of the two major traditional festivities of the Birthday of Buddha and Cheung Chau Bun Festival next week, the show will be themed around the two festivals and will showcase the traditional features, adding festive ambience to the city and sending blessings to locals and visitors.

11 May drone show – Giant “lucky buns” hover above Wan Chai waterfront to send blessings

The drone show will begin at 8pm above the coastal area in Wan Chai and will last for about 10 minutes. The show features 1,000 drones transitioning into multiple dynamic scenes of the festivities, including the giant “lucky buns”, flower boards of the Cheung Chau Bun Festival, and other festive elements.

A 3D bun tower measuring about 60m stands about 4 times the traditional bun tower. A 30m giant lucky bun tops the tower. The flower board is one of the focuses of the annual Bun Festival. The nightscape will recreate this sophisticated craftmanship with the modern drones.

The auspicious dancing lion brings a touch of happiness to the performance.
The show also features the tradition of temple visits to spread the message of peace.
