HKTB Announces Provisional Visitor Arrivals for January 2026

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced that the provisional visitor arrivals for January this year reached 4.81 million. Although January did not coincide with the Chinese Mainland’s Spring Festival holiday^ period as it did last year, the figure still recorded a 1% increase compared to the same period last year.

 

Visitor arrivals from non-Chinese Mainland recorded 1.17 million, a 15% year-on-year increase, with long-haul markets showing more pronounced growth. Visitor arrivals from the Chinese Mainland remained broadly comparable to last year at 3.64 million.

 

(^Remark: According to the announcement of the General Office of the State Council, the Spring Festival holiday in 2026 is from 15 to 23 February, and that of 2025 was from 28 January to 4 February.)
