HKTB Warmly Welcomes Increase of Duty-Free Allowance For Luggage Articles For Visitors Who are Mainland Residents Launching New Promotional Campaign “Summer Chill Hong Kong” to giveaway “Summer Triple Rewards” with Offers Worth Over HKD$100 Million for Overnight Visitors

Post Date: 28 Jun 2024
Details:

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) warmly welcomes and expresses sincere gratitude for the Central Government’s announcement to increase the duty-free allowance for luggage articles brought into the Mainland from Hong Kong by visitors who are Mainland residents. Riding on the new measure, HKTB is launching a new “Summer Chill Hong Kong” campaign, which includes a “Summer Triple Rewards” promotion, offering all overnight visitors to Hong Kong with 500,000 sets of rewards, with offers in transport / sightseeing, dining and retail totalling over HK$100 million. HKTB is also collaborating with the trade to present a range of spending offers to further stimulate visitor spending in Hong Kong.

Dr Pang Yiu-kai, HKTB Chairman, expresses sincere gratitude for the Central Government's new measure, “The earlier expansion of the Individual Visit Scheme (IVS) to more cities has helped bring more Mainland visitors to Hong Kong. The increasing the duty-free allowance for luggage articles brought into the Mainland from Hong Kong by visitors who are Mainland residents will help boost visitor consumption desire and encourage them to spend more in town. To amplify the effect, in parallel with the implementation of the measure, HKTB will introduce ‘Summer Triple Rewards’, a series of selected offers and support the promotion of city-wide summer events under the ‘Summer Chill Hong Kong’ campaign, so as to incentivise visitors to spend more in Hong Kong and maximise the contribution of tourism to the overall economy. We would like to thank our trade partners for their support and for joining hands with us to create a relaxing and enjoyable summer atmosphere for both visitors and locals.”

From July to September, the new “Summer Chill Hong Kong” campaign will foster an exciting summer vibe with the following four highlights:
