At the CITIE 2020 held in Guangzhou, HKTB provided an effective platform for the travel industry to exchange information and generate business leads. With the outstanding design, all-round service and distinguishing features of the Hong Kong Pavilion, HKTB once again won the “Best Organisation Award” presented by the exhibition organiser.

 

The Hong Kong Pavilion was graced with the visit of Mr Xu Ruisheng, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, Ms Zeng Yingru, Deputy Director General, Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province. Guangzhou representatives from various Hong Kong attractions, including Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park Hong Kong, Noah’s Ark Hong Kong and sky100 Observation Deck also gathered at the booth to share views on rebuilding Hong Kong tourism. Furthermore, Ministry leaders from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao met at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao joint booth to discuss the Greater Bay Area promotion opportunities.

 

This year, CITIE covered over 30,000 sqm venue with four themed exhibition halls. The three-day event attracted more than 40 countries and regions, over 20 autonomous regions and 21 cultural tourism delegation, as well as travel agencies, attractions and cultural tourism groups to participate. It was the first major international cultural tourism event in Guangdong which was held in the context of domestic epidemic prevention and control. It marked a great milestone along with the resumption of work and production and the restoration of economic and social order.
