The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced that Mr Scott Kwon, Regional Director of Korea, will leave his position on 30 Jun 2021. Mr Dane Cheng, Executive Director of the HKTB, expressed his gratitude to Mr Kwon for his 15 years of dedicated service and outstanding leadership, which have successfully uplifted Hong Kong’s brand image as a top-of-mind destination in the South Korean market. He thanks Mr Kwon for his contributions over the past years and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.
Succeeding Mr Kwon, Mr Yoon-ho Kim has been appointed Director of Korea, effective on 1 July 2021. Reporting to Ms Becky Ip, Deputy Executive Director, Mr Kim will lead the development and implementation of the HKTB’s marketing strategies in South Korea.
Mr Dane Cheng expressed confidence in Mr Kim in his new role: “With his extensive marketing and tourism experience, I am sure Mr Kim will undertake the mission to steer our business to tourism recovery in the South Korean market.”
Mr Kim joined the HKTB in 2006 and is currently Senior Manager, Marketing, and is responsible for trade and consumer marketing in South Korea. Mr Kim has led the implementation of numerous successful and innovative marketing campaigns and cooperation programmes with trade and consumer brands, strengthening the competitiveness of Hong Kong as a travel destination among South Korean consumers. |
