2018 Hong Kong Tourism Overview

HKTB’s 2018 Hong Kong Tourism Overview came to a successful conclusion. The event held on 26 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre highlighted our annual plan and strategic focus for the local tourism industry this coming year. It was attended by over 1,000 industry leaders, trade partners as well as students.

 

Our theme this year, “Best of All, We are One Hong Kong” (同聲同氣 同創最香港), represents our vision to showcase the best of Hong Kong with our trade partners. The event kicked off with a welcome speech by Dr Peter Lam, the Chairman of HKTB, followed by a keynote speech by Commissioner for Tourism, Mr Joe Wong, JP. Mr Anthony Lau, the Executive Director of HKTB, then presented the 2017 Business Review and Overview for 2018.

 

The day’s highlights included insightful speeches by two keynote speakers, Dr Dai Bin, President of the China Tourism Academy and Director of the National Tourism Data Centre, and Mr Thomas Deng, Regional Chief Investment Officer & Chief China Strategist at UBS Wealth Management. They shared their views on future tourist development in Hong Kong and the Bay Area, and how we can seize upcoming opportunities.

 

Later in the afternoon, Directors from our regional offices reported on the trend and challenges in their respective markets, providing insights for our trade partners to plan and pursue exciting new business leads.
