HONG KONG, JULY 26, 2018 – Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) today unveiled the name of its newest Marvel attraction, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! The attraction will debut in 2019 as the park continues the multi-year expansion of the resort. The announcement comes as the sequel to Ant-Man has debuted in theatres around the world to blockbuster results, grossing more than US$160 million worldwide in its first weekend. In Asia, the film opened 49% higher than the first installment and was #1 in numerous territories across the region.

Movie stars are thrilled to appear in the all-new Marvel attraction

Ant Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle! is especially exciting for Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, the stars of the Ant-Man and The Wasp films, as they also appear in the all-new, interactive attraction at HKDL. “I have been a Disneyland fan my whole life”, said Rudd. “To have an attraction as Ant Man at Hong Kong Disneyland is so exciting.” Lilly is also thrilled for her character to appear in the attraction: “It’s such an exciting moment for a female heroine to be in the title of a Marvel film. For the character to also have her own ride is an incredible honor.”

The epic story of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle!
An ordinary visit to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Science and Technology Pavilion at Stark Expo at HKDL turns extraordinary as guests are called to action. Riding in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s state-of-the-art vehicle, guests engage in a heroic battle, fighting alongside Ant-Man and The Wasp against Zola and his army of Hydra swarm-bots. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! follows the successful launch of Iron Man Experience at the resort in 2017. Marvel experiences continue to resonate with guests in Asia as Iron Man Experience has been consistently rated as the top attraction at HKDL since its opening. More Marvel experiences will be launched as part of the multi-year expansion of HKDL that extends through 2023, making HKDL an ultimate hub for Super Hero experiences in the region.

Multi-Year Expansion Continues to Take Shape
Under the expansion project, new attractions and entertainment will bring Disney characters and stories, including Frozen, Marvel and Disney Princesses, to life through amazing, first-of-a-kind experiences. The first of such offerings is an all live atmosphere stage show, “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration” which debuted in Adventureland in May.

The transformation of HKDL castle is already underway. The transformed castle will pay tribute to 13 Disney Princess stories and take the park to new heights with all-new day and nighttime entertainment. The themed hoarding around the castle narrates the scenes of 13 Disney Princess stories, with lyrics from the stories’ classic songs.

HKDL wants every guest to join the magic and help create a Disney castle photo mosaic. Guests are invited to share a photo on Instagram, taken in front of the Disney Princess scenes at the castle or any memorable photo at the park, with #CreateADisneyCastle. Photos may also be uploaded directly to www.CreateADisneyCastle.com to create a Disney castle photo mosaic together. And the mosaic is now taking shape! Guests who have submitted their pictures can search for their photos in the mosaic. Take a look at it by scanning this QR code and help build up the castle before its transformation is completed.
