The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is focused on excellence in service and creating more channels for QTS-accredited merchants to promote their brand and maximise their exposure. Below are some highlights of the benefits QTS merchants enjoyed in the past few months.

Outstanding QTS Merchant & Service Staff Awards 2013

On 9 October 2013, 38 QTS-accredited merchants were honoured the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards, as well as 55 merchants the Merit award at the Outstanding QTS Merchant Awards at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for Outstanding QTS Merchant Service Staff, a new category created this year, went to 31 frontline staff members for their outstanding performances. This event was to recognise merchants that provide exceptional services.

Interviews with the winners were published in the Next Magazine between November 2013 and February 2014, in recognition of their contributions to the industry.

HKTB congratulates all the winners on their success and thanks all participants for their efforts in making Hong Kong a destination for service excellence.

A New Mobile Marketing Platform

In collaboration with popular social media platform SINA Weibo, HKTB has launched the “Hong Kong Value Offer” mobile app to promote QTS-accredited merchants. The app will encourage Mainland users to visit participating merchants during their stay in Hong Kong by providing special information on products and offers.

Attracting Clientele with HKTB’s Mega Events

HKTB’s efforts to encourage visitor patronage for QTS-accredited merchants paid off again when it successfully lined up partnerships with American Express and Visa International at the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Month and Hong Kong WinterFest. These two mega events, held on 8 November 2013 – 15 January 2014 and 15 December 2013 – 28 February 2014 respectively, featured spending stimulation programmes in which participating QTS merchants provided attractive offers to American Express and Visa International cardholders. Merchants were able to receive extensive marketing opportunities and social media exposure, along with a boost in sales.
