  • Hotel occupancy stayed at above 80%, of which nearly 30% were estimated to be occupied by local stays.
  • In May and June, hotel rates fell slightly after a peak in April, but remained above 2018 level in the same period.

Among overnight visitors from Mainland, over half of whom visited Hong Kong for leisure. However, what attract them to Hong Kong have evolved.

  • There has been a decline in those who came primarily for shopping. Nonetheless, Hong Kong is still perceived having price advantage on luxury goods. Fashionable style, quality and genuineness are also being appreciated by Mainland visitors.
  • Hong Kong is also attracting more Mainland visitors looking for art and culture, particularly among the young segment. Visits to Hong Kong are increasingly attracted to the West Kowloon Cultural District, movie and drama scenes, among others.
