As the tourism doors of Hong Kong are open, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) hosted an online briefing on 12 January 2023 to share HKTB’s tourism recovery plan with Hong Kong trade partners. HKTB Executive Director Mr Dane Cheng reported the latest tourism situations in Hong Kong and announced the HKTB’s recovery campaign, Hello Hong Kong.

Hello Hong Kong will be activated with initiatives and activities to reconnect Hong Kong and overseas trade partners, while bringing Hong Kong back to the eyes of worldwide visitors. During the briefing, Mr Cheng introduced the details of HKTB’s three strategies:

  1. Global Invitation to visit Hong Kong: say hello and reconnect visitors around the world with Hong Kong through video messages and content marketing.
  2. Strong Event Line-up: organise and support a series of mega events and MICE events in coming months.
  3. City-wide Welcoming Offers: apart from free air tickets from airlines and Airport Authority Hong Kong, HKTB is soliciting offers from different industry partners to be included in Hong Kong Goodies for visitors’ enjoyment on HKTB’s digital platform.

The briefing was attended by more than 700 representatives from local travel agencies, attractions, hotels, airlines, the retail and dining industries, as well as Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) and cruise sectors.
