Multi-Destination Travel
Mainland China is accessible by air, rail, bus and ferry
from Hong Kong. There are hundreds of weekly direct
flights from Hong Kong to major Mainland cities such
as Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming, Chengdu, Xian and
Sanya, as well as cross-boundary coaches and ferries
to Guangdong Province.
Shanghai
Most foreigners require a visa to enter Mainland
China. Visas should be obtained from any embassy or
consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China
in your guests’ own country before their departure to
Mainland China. A standard Chinese tourist visa is
good for sightseeing and visiting friends and relatives,
and can be obtained for a single entry, double entries
or multiple entries. Other visas, such as business
visas or working visas, are also available. For details,

Guangdong Province (Group Tour
only)
Upon arrival in Hong Kong, visitors travelling in a group
can get a group visa or 144-hour Convenient Visa
to travel to Guangdong Province. This is a separate
piece of paper (not affixed to any passport), which
requires that group members enter and exit Guangdong
Province together. To apply for a 144-hour Convenient
Visa, visitors:
1.
must join a tour organised by a registered Hong
Kong travel agent;
2.
must travel in a group consisting of a minimum of
2 persons and a maximum of 40 persons;
3.
can have a choice of ports of entry or exit in
Guangdong Province, except Shantou*;
4.
must enter and leave the areas together via entry
ports in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan,
Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing,
Huizhou or Shantou*.
*Travellers must enter and exit via the same port.
