Taxis
Taxis are a popular and relatively inexpensive way to
get around Hong Kong. There are 18,138 plus licensed
cabs and all are air-conditioned and metered. Most
are licensed to carry up to five passengers. All taxis
serve Hong Kong International Airport and Hong Kong
Disneyland. Urban and Lantau taxis serve AsiaWorld-
Expo.
There are three types of taxis in Hong Kong:

Price tariffs are displayed clearly inside the taxis. Tunnel
or bridge tolls (HK$3-55) are extra and will be added to
the amount on the meter. When using any of the three
cross-harbour tunnels, expect to pay an extra HK$10-
15 for the driver’s return toll, because most drivers are
based on one side of the harbour and will return after
crossing. There may also be additional charges for large
pieces of luggage carried in the boot (trunk). Receipts
are available upon request. Passengers are required by
law to wear a seat-belt where available, whether sitting
in the front or rear.
Car Hire
Self-drive and chauffeur-driven car-hire (rental) services
are available from major hotel transport counters and
other agencies. If your guests choose to drive, they
should always carry their travel documents and driving
licences. Chauffeur-driven limousines can be hired by
the hour or day.
Helicopters
Heliservices (Hong Kong) Ltd (+852 2802 0200)
operates charter flights for sightseeing tours over the
city.
