Designed to preserve,
present and interpret the cultural identity of Hong Kong
for the education, inspiration and enjoyment of residents
and visitors, this museum houses exhibits on the history
and culture of the New Territories, Cantonese Opera
and Chinese culture and art.

Hong Kong Heritage Museum
Hong Kong Railway Museum –
This small museum
charts the development of the Kowloon-Canton Railway
(KCR) (now called the MTR East Rail Line) and the
town of Tai Po. The museum building is the former Tai
Po Market railway station, now a declared monument,
built in Chinese temple style in 1913. It includes a
display of vintage train coaches.

Lantau Link View Point and Visitors Centre –
Located
on the northwest tip of Tsing Yi Island, this centre
chronicles one of the most impressive engineering
marvels of the 20th century, the Tsing Ma Bridge.

Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail
Visitors Centre –
The Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery
is located inside of Old Ping Shan Police Station and
contains various relics belonging to the Tang clan,
one of the area’s prominent families. Built in 1899, the
building also serves as a visitor centre for the Ping Shan
Heritage Trail.

Sam Tung Uk Museum –
Sam Tung Uk (“three rows of
dwelling”) is a 200-year-old restored rural walled village.
This museum, a declared historic monument, includes
an ancestral hall, two rows of side houses, an exhibition
hall and a lecture hall, and displays of period items.

Sheung Yiu Folk Museum –
Located inside Sai Kung
Country Park, this fortified Hakka clan village (a
declared monument) displays local and clan history in
furnished village houses. A gate tower and lime kiln can
also be viewed in the vicinity.
