Horse racing began in
Hong Kong in 1846 at Happy Valley. The museum’s

Paying tribute to Hong
Kong and Mainland China’s rich seafaring past dating
back 2,000 years, the museum contains precious
models of ancient ships, artistic nautical works and
interactive displays of modern ships and ports, as

development into a major maritime centre.

Located in a
restored fort, this museum highlights the military history
of Hong Kong, from the Ming dynasty up through the
Qing dynasty to colonial times and the modern era. On
display are actual military items, including a tank from
the Second World War.
