HKTB organised the Hong Kong · Live in Los Angeles – Greater Bay Area Showcase in the US, with the aim to promote the diverse tourism experiences in Hong Kong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The event was officiated by Mr Edward Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of HKSAR, Dr YK Pang, Chairman of HKTB, and Mr Paul Koretz, member of the Los Angeles City Council.

Located at the Westfield Century City shopping centre, the Showcase was designed by Hong Kong’s up-and-coming young architect Stanley Siu, featuring different signature buildings and attractions in Hong Kong and the Greater Bar Area. Visitors enjoyed the opportunities to experience the exciting happenings in Hong Kong and the region through seven themed zones: Hong Kong Neighbourhoods, Culture & Heritage, Passion for Art, Festive Hong Kong, Macao, Guangdong, and Hong Kong Café.

Emmy-nominated TV host Darley Newman was invited to share her recent trip to Hong Kong and Macao, highlighting the convenience of travelling via the newly built Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Hong Kong drum troupe Ban’s Gig Drums also gave a wonderful traditional Chinese drum performance to showcase the vibrancy of the Greater Bay Area cities.

HKTB hosted a Greater Bay Trade Seminar with the support from Guangdong and Macao. It introduced the infrastructure and attractions in the Greater Bay Area, facilitating American trade partners to develop new multi-destination tourism products.

Furthermore, one of the highlights of the event was the Hong Kong Café set up by HKTB at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Think Asia, Think Hong Kong symposium. The Café served signature local snacks of Hong Kong and successfully promoted the city’s unique food culture to US visitors.
